Fine-Tune Image and Layer Settings for Perfect Laser Engravings

The Adjust Image tool allows you to fine-tune image settings, such as contrast, brightness, and gamma, alongside layer settings. It provides a single window for making adjustments and offers a real-time preview of the resulting output, simplifying the process of preparing images for laser engraving.


Location of the Adjust Image Tool

  • Menu: Tools → Adjust Image
  • Context Menu: Right-click an image and select Adjust Image.
  • Keyboard Shortcut:
    • Windows: Alt + I
    • Mac: Option + I

Using the Adjust Image Tool

Opening the Tool

  1. Select a single image in your Workspace.
  2. Open the tool using the menu, context menu, or keyboard shortcut.

Adjust Image Window Overview

  • Source Image (Top Left): Displays the original image.
  • Processed Image (Top Right): Shows the preview of adjustments in real-time.

1. Layer Settings

  • Located on the left side of the Adjust Image window.
  • Correspond to settings in the Cut Settings Editor.

3. Invert Display

  • Toggles the preview to show black as the background and white as lasered lines.
  • Ideal for previewing materials like slate, black tile, or anodized aluminum.
  • Note: This is a preview setting only and does not affect the actual output.

Built-In Presets

  • Basic: Default starting point for general engravings.
  • Black Paint on White: Optimized for light markings on dark surfaces.

  1. Click the Save Preset button.
  2. Enter a name in the Preset Name field.
  3. Choose which Layer and Image Settings to include.
    • Use All, None, or Invert to select settings.
  4. Click Save to store the preset.

Managing Presets

  • Delete Icon-Delete-2 : Use the Delete Preset button to remove unwanted presets.
  • Import/Export Icon-AdjustImage-ImportExport : Save presets as backups or transfer them to another computer.

Tip: Include presets as part of a User Bundle for easy sharing or backup.


Finalizing Adjustments

  • Click OK: Applies changes to the Layer and Image Settings.
  • Click Cancel: Discards changes and restores previous settings.
