The Close Selected Paths With Tolerance tool allows you to connect the start and end points of paths by specifying a distance threshold. This gives you greater control over how shapes are closed, whether by creating new connecting lines or moving endpoints together.

This feature is especially useful for ensuring shapes meet the requirements of LightBurn functions like Fill Mode, which require closed loops with aligned start and end points.

How It Works

The tool enables you to:

1. Specify a tolerance or distance threshold within which start and end points will be closed.
2. Choose between two connection methods:
   • Move Ends Together: Brings the existing start and end points together to close the gap.
   • Join With Line: Creates a new line segment to connect the start and end points.

Using Close Selected Paths With Tolerance

1. Select the paths you want to close.
2. Navigate to Edit → Close Selected Paths With Tolerance to open the dialog window.

1. Adjust the Distance Threshold using the slider.
   • Points farther apart than the specified threshold will not be connected.
2. Choose your preferred connection method:
   • Move Ends Together or Join With Line.
3. Review the information at the bottom of the dialog:
   • Open Shapes Found: Total number of open shapes in your selection.
   • Shapes Closed: Number of shapes successfully closed.
   • Open Shapes Remaining: Shapes that remain unclosed after the operation.
4. Click OK to apply the changes or Cancel to discard them.

• It requires paths to already be fully connected except for their start and end nodes.
