Inserting a Logo using Lightburn for Galvo Fiber Lasers

This training will guide you through the process of inserting a logo into a pattern using Lightburn software for Galvo fiber lasers.

Step 1: Initial Setup

Start with the triple outline complete and the pattern inserted as learned in our previous trainings.

Step 2: Importing the Logo and Insertion

  1. Import the Logo
    - Click on the 'File' menu in the top menu bar.
    - Select 'Import.'
       - Navigate to where you have saved the pattern file.
       - Click on the file and then click 'Open.'

    2. Prepare the Logo
       - If the image is not already in a vector format, vectorize the image by right-clicking the image and selecting 'Trace Image.' Adjust accordingly.
       - Once the image is in a vector format, decide if the image needs to be inverted or not and proceed as desired.

    3. Size and Position
       - Size the image and position it against your pattern as desired.
       - Change the layer color for contrast if needed.

    4. Logo Offset
       - With the logo selected, click 'Offset Shapes.'
       - Select the 'Outward' option and adjust the offset distance value as needed. A larger offset means more of an unengraved buffer zone between the pattern and the logo.
       - Select 'Outer Shapes Only' then click 'OK.'

Step 3: Inserting the Logo

  1. Click the pattern, then shift-click the offset line of the logo.
    2. When both are selected, click 'Boolean Subtract' or use the shortcut 'Alt + Minus.'

Step 4: Prepare for Engraving

  1. If you changed your logo's layer color for contrast, be sure to change it back to match the pattern's layer color so the entire design burns at the correct setting.
