      Guide to the Main Toolbar in LightBurn

      Essential Tools for Project Management and Workspace Navigation

      The Main Toolbar in LightBurn is a collection of essential tools for managing projects, performing clipboard actions, and navigating your workspace. By default, it is located on the left side of the top toolbar, next to the Arrange Toolbar.

      Accessing the Main Toolbar

      • Default Location: On the left side of the top toolbar.
      • Re-enable the Toolbar: Go to Window → Main.
      • Restore Default Layout: Go to Window → Reset to Default Layout.

      File Management Tools

      These tools help you create, open, save, and import projects:

      • New Icon-MainToolbar-New (Ctrl/Cmd + N): Creates a new, blank project.
      • Open Icon-MainToolbar-Open (Ctrl/Cmd + O): Opens LightBurn project files (.lbrn, .lbrn2) or supported image/vector files.
        • Warning: Opening a non-project file creates a new project, replacing the current one. Use Import to add designs to an existing project.
      • Save Icon-MainToolbar-Save (Ctrl/Cmd + S): Saves the current project in .lbrn or .lbrn2 format.
      • Import Icon-MainToolbar-Import (Ctrl/Cmd + I): Adds graphics from supported file formats to the current project.

      Undo and Redo Icon-MainToolbar-UndoRedo

      Reverse or reapply actions and design changes with these tools:

      • Undo: Ctrl/Cmd + Z
      • Redo: Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + Z

      Clipboard Tools

      Manage objects in your Workspace using these clipboard tools:

      • Copy Icon-Copy (Ctrl/Cmd + C): Copies selected objects to the clipboard.
      • Cut Icon-Cut (Ctrl/Cmd + X): Removes selected objects while copying them to the clipboard.
      • Paste Icon-Paste (Ctrl/Cmd + V): Inserts clipboard objects into the Workspace, centered at the cursor.
      • Delete Icon-Delete (Del): Removes selected objects from the Workspace.

      Navigation and Zoom Tools

      Easily navigate and adjust your Workspace view:

      • Pan / Drag View Icon-MainToolbar-PanDrag : Drag the Workspace by clicking and holding the mouse wheel or third button.
      • Zoom to Page Icon-MainToolbar-ZoomToPage : Centers and maximizes the grid view.
      • Zoom In / Out Icon-MainToolbar-ZoomInZoomOut : Adjusts the view to zoom closer or farther away.
      • Zoom to Frame Selection Icon-MainToolbar-ZoomToFrameSelection : Centers and zooms in on selected objects or the entire Workspace if nothing is selected.

      Camera and Preview Tools

      • Update Background From Camera Icon-MainToolbar-UpdateBackground : Captures a new image for a Workspace Overlay (available when a camera is in use).
      • Preview Icon-MainToolbar-Preview : Simulates laser movements and operations for your project.

      Settings Tools

      Access global and device-specific settings with these options:

      • Settings Icon-MainToolbar-Settings : Opens global user preferences applicable across all lasers.
      • Device Settings Icon-MainToolbar-DeviceSettings : Configures device-specific options based on the selected laser.
