# Locking and Unlocking Shapes in LightBurn

## Secure Your Design Elements with the Lock Shapes Tool

#### **What is the Lock Shapes Tool?**

The **Lock Shapes** tool prevents any form of editing on selected objects in your design. Locked objects cannot be:

- Moved
- Resized
- Deleted
- Modified in text or properties

This tool is ideal for:

- Avoiding accidental edits during design.
- Securing alignment graphics or templates.
- Restricting changes in collaborative projects.

### **Location of Lock Shapes Tools**

- **Shape Properties Window**: Toggle the **Locked** state on or off.
- **Arrange Menu**: `Arrange → Lock/Unlock Selected Shapes`.
- **Right-Click Menu**: Select objects, then choose **Lock/Unlock Selected Shapes**.

1. **To Lock Shapes**:
   
     - Select the objects you want to lock.
     - Use one of the following methods: 
           - Toggle **Locked** in the **Shape Properties Window**.
           - Go to `Arrange → Lock Selected Shapes`.
           - Right-click the objects and select **Lock Selected Shapes**.
2. **To Unlock Shapes**:
   
     - Select the locked objects.
     - Use one of the following methods: 
           - Toggle **Locked** off in the **Shape Properties Window**.
           - Go to `Arrange → Unlock Selected Shapes`.
           - Right-click the objects and select **Unlock Selected Shapes**.
