Unboxing the Edge Fiber Laser

Introduction

Welcome to San Antonio Laser. In this guide, we will unbox the Edge Fiber Laser to help you understand what’s inside the box and what you should look for. Ensure someone is present during delivery to inspect the crate for any damage and note it on the delivery paperwork.

Step-by-Step Guide

Initial Inspection

  1. Inspect the Crate: When you receive your laser, inspect the crate for any damage. Note any damages on the delivery paperwork.

Unboxing Process

  1. Remove the Bolts: Use a drill or impact driver to remove the bolts around the top of the crate.
  2. Remove the Lid: Once the bolts are removed, take off the lid. The lid might flip back or can be taken off completely.
  3. Disassemble the Box: The entire box can be disassembled by removing the screws around it.

Accessories Box

  1. Inventory Check: Open the accessories box and ensure all items are present. Here’s a list of what you should find:

   - **Power Cord**: A standard 3-meter (10 feet) computer cord.

   - **USB Cord**: A USB-A to USB-B cord for connecting the laser to your computer.

   - **Safety Glasses**: One pair of safety glasses rated for 1064 nanometers.

   - **Additional Lens**: An additional 110 mm lens for higher intensity tasks.

   - **Business Cards**: A pack of 25 business cards for practice.

   - **Allen Wrenches**: A small set of Allen wrenches for adjustments.

   - **Guide Rails**: Aluminum guide rails with bolts for attaching to the work bed.

   - **Keys**: A set of keys required for operating the laser (E-stop, key switch, and status light).

   - **Cleaning Wipes**: A couple of wipes for cleaning lenses.

   - **Rotary**: A 70 mm rotary attachment.

Removing the Laser

  1. Two-Person Lift: The laser weighs about 115 lbs. It is recommended to have two people lift it out of the box.
  2. Nesting: The laser components are nested inside the crate. Carefully unwrap and separate them.
  3. Setup: Place the laser components (laser arm and Laser Source) on your workbench or designated area.
