Using the Art Library in Lightburn for CO2 Lasers

The Art Library in Lightburn is a convenient way to store and recall artwork that you use frequently, allowing quick access while designing. This article explains how to manage your art library, including importing, organizing, and using artwork.

Accessing the Art Library

  • The currently loaded libraries are visible on the left side of the window.
  • The right side of the window shows the artwork in the currently selected library.

Creating and Managing Libraries

  1. Creating a New Library

    • Click the New button.
    • Choose a location and a name for the library file.
  2. Importing Artwork

    • Click the Import button to add files from your computer. Multiple files can be imported at once, each becoming an entry in the current library.
    • To import a graphic from your current Lightburn project, select the artwork and click Import Graphic from Project. You will be prompted to name the graphic.
    • Alternatively, right-click in the graphics area and select Add Selection to Library from the dropdown menu.
  3. Using Artwork from the Library

    • Locate the desired artwork in the thumbnail view on the right.
    • Drag the thumbnail into your project or click the Add Graphic to Project button.

Organizing and Sharing Libraries

  • Each library you create is a file on your hard drive containing all the graphics inside it in a compact form.
  • Libraries can be copied between computers to share the contents.
  • Lightburn remembers which libraries you have loaded. Unloading a library file removes it from the list of loaded libraries but does not delete the file or its contents.

Loading and Unloading Libraries

  • To load a library, click the Load button, browse to the file location, and double-click the file.
  • To unload a library, simply remove it from your list of loaded libraries to reduce clutter when not in use.
